An important factor of creating a professional look to our video is in the attention to detail to the effects applied to the footage. We have really aspired to the inspiration we saw and are still working hard on overlays, colour correction, transitions and other effects. A big step we made was to turn our video footage to wide screen, we were a bit skeptical at first as it would cut off sections of the film but it was a good move! really enhancing the professionalism of our video. Below are some screen shots of overlays we have used.
The image to the left shows a flash back, desaturated with a 'soft edge' effect applied so it is noticeable, an overlay using lights in the middle increases drama and depth to the shot. A screen shot during a cross dissolve on the right.
This image is extremely powerful, it is used during the slower pace of the music, it was by chance that the close up fitting with the background lighting but the image is striking and dramatic.
